The Condo 12A on Lake Shore Drive

We owned our late parents’ apartment, The Condo 12 A on Lake Shore Drive in downtown Chicago. It was filled with vintage furniture, mid-century finds, incredible art, 1970’s chic, classics and kitch.

We chose the pieces we loved, but what to do with the rest? Our children weren’t established and had no room … we called donation services and they were discerning and could only take a few things. We decided to open online shops on Chairish, Etsy, and Ebay, and sell what we could.

By the deadline of the sale of the condo — 18 months later— we had sold everything in the apartment! Vintage Baker furniture, Mid-Century tables, Stilnovo lighting, Milo Baughman and Paul Evans pieces were now being treasured by buyers all over the world! A 1970’s kitchy ceramic lion ended up in North Dakota . An Asian room dividing screen and Chinoiserie Breakfront in a restaurant downtown. A 1970’s glass and chrome etagere in an apartment in Brooklyn.

Happily, we felt that although we didn’t have room for these lovely items in our family, they were still being treasured and cared for in another.

Realizing there were others in this situation, we softly opened with an email to our friends and family, offering our services and suggestions.

10 years later, with 180 clients and over $850,000 in inventory and $900,000 in sales, we’re sharing our expertise and story with you!
